Narcan Saves Lives

Naloxone, known by the brand name Narcan, is a medication that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. Narcan, training on how to administer it, and information on how to recognize and respond to the signs of an overdose are available throughout the community.

Narcan, along with other tools like drug test strips, are used for harm reduction to prevent overdose fatalities. The New York State Good Samaritan Law is another measure that allows people to call 911 without fear of arrest if there is a suspected overdose.
